ABT vehicles and ABT components are based on the manufacturers’ series parts, which differ to a greater or lesser extent from the mass-produced base products. When using modified vehicles, appropriate prudence and a sense of responsibility are essential. Your vehicle will reward all this with reliable operation.

First and foremost, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that for any vehicle, compliance with the engine oil change service intervals specified by the manufacturer is mandatory. Furthermore, for vehicles with automatic transmissions, the automatic transmission oil and filter must be replaced after 30,000 km! Please have your authorized service center stamp the maintenance certificate page located at the end of the ABT service booklet.

Should any malfunctions or other problems arise regarding your vehicle, please have your authorized service partner fill out the complaint registration form found on the last page of the ABT service booklet and fax it immediately to the following fax number: +36 52 540 778.

It is important to know that the form must be forwarded to ABT Sportsline Hungary before starting any repair work! After the arrival and registration of the completed complaint form, we will notify you as soon as possible regarding the course of action and further steps.

IMPORTANT SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION

Engine control units marked with the modified data set of ABT Sportsline cannot be overwritten with updates offered by the manufacturer without professional measures, as the appropriately programmed proprietary protection of the ABT data set does not allow intervention! Should a factory update of the engine control unit be unavoidable for technical reasons, the control unit must first be restored to its series state at ABT Sportsline Hungary or at an official ABT EDaS chip tuning partner. Only after this can it be overwritten with the factory update and then with the ABT performance increase (costs are borne by the customer!). ABT Sportsline assumes no warranty for damages occurring during the procedure specified here! If the vehicle operates perfectly, it is not absolutely necessary to apply updates from the manufacturer or ABT Sportsline!

As ABT Sportsline constantly works to guarantee the best possible quality with its products, it necessarily applies the latest available factory version prior to reprogramming when modifying the engine control unit! Under the above conditions, we can guarantee that our customers’ vehicles are always equipped with the most current ABT performance increase! Protect your cold engine from high RPMs, full throttle, and heavy loads, as there is a risk of engine damage! Allow the warm engine to idle for approximately 2 minutes before shutting it off.

Important information for engines with turbochargers!

The performance of internal combustion engines depends on many external factors, such as ambient pressure, temperature, and humidity. During the development of modern engines, achieving optimal efficiency and ensuring the lowest possible consumption for the given unit are particularly important aspects. In the case of Otto engines, the reduction of knocking sounds is achieved by decreasing the compression ratio, and the boost pressure can be increased proportionally, resulting in higher performance. High-octane fuels significantly reduce the knocking effect of Otto engines. Maximum engine performance is achieved with higher boost pressure. in high-temperature environments, Otto engines achieve the same result with high-octane fuel, such as 100 RON. Modern engine control units recognize the parameters mentioned above. To protect the engine, the intelligent engine management software corrects for significant external effects, such as boost pressure. The maximum boost pressure of turbo engines depends on the altitude above sea level. Generally, at lower altitudes, the boost pressure is higher than at higher altitudes above sea level, also to protect the turbocharger. ABT Sportsline engineers take into account the unique parameters discussed previously.

WARRANTY GUIDELINES

• ABT Sportsline Hungary (hereinafter: ABT Enterprise) assumes the original new vehicle warranty guaranteed by the manufacturer for those customers who have increased the engine performance or top speed value by modifying the control unit—with the deviations and exceptions specified in the points below.

• The reprogramming of the control unit can only be performed at the ABT Enterprise or at an authorized brand partner (ABT Partner) within the territory of Hungary and Slovakia. In the event of a malfunction, the Customer cannot claim the following costs: transportation of the defective vehicle to the site, travel costs for the passengers of the affected vehicle, or costs for potential accommodation and loss of earnings.

• If the vehicle manufacturer provides the opportunity to update the control unit, ABT Enterprise, and thus the ABT Partner, does not assume the costs associated with the update (e.g., removal/installation of the control unit, software version update, shipping costs, rental car, etc.). These costs are borne by the customer. Wear parts (e.g., brake discs, pads, clutches, tires, etc.) and parts related to the fuel system are not covered by the warranty.

• In the event of a malfunction, the customer must immediately notify ABT Sportsline Hungary’s technical customer service (phone: +36-52/540-777, fax: +36-52/540-778). Prior written permission from ABT Enterprise is required to begin justified repair work (the necessary form can be found in the service booklet, at ABT Enterprise technical customer service, or at any ABT Partner service center). A work order signed by the customer does not replace the consent of ABT Enterprise. Payment of costs by ABT Enterprise can only take place based on the final settlement if all parties involved have fulfilled the conditions set out in these warranty guidelines.

• The ABT Partner acknowledges the following: A/ The owner is obliged to transport the defective vehicle to the nearest ABT Partner service center at their own expense to repair the malfunction. B/ In the event of a malfunction, the customer is not entitled to a replacement car. C/ If repair or maintenance work is carried out at an ABT Partner, this must also be documented in the ABT Service booklet. D/ Prerequisites for any warranty provision:

  • Proper use by the vehicle owner (beyond engine-related activities as well)

  • Fulfillment of maintenance obligations specified by the manufacturer and ABT Enterprise

  • For all vehicles, compliance with the engine oil change service intervals specified by the factory is mandatory, and for vehicles with automatic transmissions, the automatic transmission oil and filter must be replaced after 30,000 km!

  • A further condition for the warranty is the use of 100 RON fuel for gasoline engines (with the exception of ABT-iS technology vehicles), and the use of sulfur-free diesel for diesel vehicles. All warranty claims are excluded if any further changes are made to the vehicle following the tuning activity that directly or indirectly affect the products or services provided by ABT Enterprise. The contracting parties declare that they have read, interpreted, and accepted the application of the provisions of the General Terms and Conditions—especially the sections dealing with control unit modification.

• If the ABT Partner uploads a modified ABT engine control unit data set to a vehicle owned by the customer, then after a potential factory recall (bug fix) software update, ABT Sportsline Hungary will provide the newer modified data set of the ABT engine control unit to the partner or the given vehicle free of charge.

• The prerequisite for any warranty provision is the intended use of the vehicle—beyond engine-related activities, compliance with the oil change service intervals specified by the factory is mandatory for any vehicle!—Fundamentally, we recommend the use of Super Plus (min. 98 RON) for gasoline engines (with the exception of ABT-iS technology vehicles). ABT Sportsline assumes no warranty for changes made to the vehicle outside of ABT that may directly or indirectly affect our ABT products or services, nor for any consequences arising therefrom.

ABT ENGINE TUNING – HIGHER PERFORMANCE WITH WARRANTY

ABT WARRANTY FOR ABT ENGINE TUNING With the ABT Power and ABT Power S engine tuning, we are clearly a nose ahead in terms of warranty, offering what is considered the best on the market. With the basic two-year warranty that assumes the factory warranty, you are protected up to a mileage of 100,000 km from the vehicle’s production date based on the ABT Warranty guidelines!

GREATER PERFORMANCE WITH WARRANTY

1. PERFORMANCE INCREASE FOR NEW VEHICLES ABT Sportsline assumes the content of the factory warranty in the form of a basic two-year warranty, valid up to a mileage of 100,000 km from the vehicle’s production date based on ABT Warranty guidelines. The ABT Warranty also includes the ABT Mobility warranty. The two-year ABT Warranty is already included in the price of the performance increase. However, this warranty can be extended for up to five years for an additional fee, according to the options you choose. Thus, the duration of the supplementary warranty can be an additional one, two, or three years, which builds upon the basic (two-year) warranty and can be valid for up to five years (up to a maximum mileage of 120,000 km).

2. PERFORMANCE INCREASE FOR VEHICLES OLDER THAN 2 YEARS In individual cases, it is possible to extend the warranty for vehicles older than 24 months for an additional fee. This is available for customers who own a car no more than 8 years old, with a mileage not exceeding 120,000 km.
